More Than a Destination—A Way of Life

At Rossmore Station, you’ll discover more than a place to stay; you’ll feel a part of the outback, welcomed into a way of life built on generations of dedication and respect for the land. Bill and Denise invite you to embrace the pace of the bush, to pause, breathe, and connect with the quiet beauty of their property.

Meet the Station Owners: Bill and Denise

Step into the world of Bill and Denise, your hosts and stewards of Rossmore Station. Since acquiring the property in 1968, Bill has worked the land with a deep love for the Bourke District, making it a haven for all who visit.

Married in 1976, Bill and Denise have made Rossmore their life’s work, raising their family and sharing their stories with visitors who seek a genuine connection to the outback. They have three adult children who regularly come home with their own families. Bill and Denise love to share this lifestyle with their 7 grandchildren.

Rossmore, is a place of quiet resilience - where the land is both harsh and beautiful, demanding and generous.

Life moves with the seasons. It’s not just home; it’s a way of life, where the simplest pleasures of walking the bush bring the most joy.
— Denise Stalley, Station Owner

Bush Immersion with Endless Views

Staying at Rossmore Station isn’t about luxury; it’s about simplicity, comfort, and connection to nature. Guests can opt for camping atop Mount Oxley, where they’ll witness some of the most breathtaking sunsets and sunrises the outback has to offer. Off the grid camping is available by the Little Bogan river and powered sites with amenities at the Shearing Shed Precinct.

For those who prefer a more structured stay, our Shearer’s Quarters provide rustic yet comfortable accommodation, capturing the essence of life on a working station. These are working shearers huts, they are very basic but comfortable.

Wake up to the sounds of the bush, breathe in the clear, crisp air, and watch as the first light reveals the beauty of the Western NSW stretching endlessly around you.

“Mt Oxley was awesome. We spent most of one day there exploring and watching the wedge tailed eagles soaring the thermals. It was so relaxing. Also loved the tiny frogs in the loo!! We will be back to camp up on Mt Oxley next time.”
