Close toilet doors after use to prevent wildlife from entering.

Directions to Mount Oxley from Brewarrina
Start in Brewarrina – Head west on the Kamilaroi Highway (B76) towards Bourke.
Travel approximately 96 km (about 1 hour) until you see the turn-off to Tarcoon Road on your left – this is the access road to Mount Oxley.
Turn left onto Tarcoon Road and continue for about 14 km on the unsealed road.

Directions to Mount Oxley from Bourke
Distance: Approx. 32 km from Bourke
Leave Bourke heading east on the Kamilaroi Highway (B76).
After approximately 25 km, you’ll pass a Rest Area on the right with a green bin and red lid — begin to slow down.
About 500 m further, you’ll see a yellow road sign indicating a right-hand turn ahead.
Turn right onto Tarcoon Road (this may be marked as Oxley Road on some maps).
*Once on Tarcoon Road:
Continue for 4 km, crossing two cattle grids.
At the fork in the road, follow the brown sign to Mount Oxley and veer right. Continue for 3 km to the locked gate.
Gate Access
The gate is usually locked. If it’s open, we may be moving stock — please leave it as you find it.
Use the combination code provided in your booking confirmation.
To open: turn the numbers to the correct code, push the u-shaped piece in to release the lock.
After driving through, re-lock the gate and spin the numbers to secure it.
Driving to the Summit:
Continue past the Shearers’ Huts. Be aware of a large dip after the yellow building.
Drive another 9 km to the foot of Mount Oxley, where the 800 m one-way track to the summit begins.
Stop, listen for other vehicles, and toot your horn before driving up.
At the fork, veer right (left is for Telstra tower maintenance).
Drive approx. 400 m around to the summit BBQ area, water tank, and toilet facilities.
Park in designated yellow areas.
Directions to the Dry Bogan River Camp – Rossmore Station, Bourke
Total distance: Approx. 27 km from Bourke
Start in Bourke – Head east on the Kamilaroi Highway (B76) towards Brewarrina.
Travel approximately 25 km. You’ll see a Rest Area on the right with a green bin and red lid — start to slow down here.
After about 300 metres, turn left through a gate marked with a white "Rossmore Station" sign.
The gate is locked – please use the access code provided in your booking confirmation.
Once inside, follow the internal track signs to the Dry Bogan River Camp.
Please Note:
Mobile reception is limited – download directions before leaving town.
The road is unsealed – suitable for most vehicles in dry weather.
Livestock may be present – drive with care.
Bring drinking water, sun protection, and please take your rubbish with you.
The Stalley family home, Dry Bogan River Camp, and Shearers Huts are all located within Rossmore Station – follow signage as required.
